1999 super cyclone experience helped us save lives: Odisha CM

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik: "The experience of the 1999 super cyclone helped us save lives. We have evacuated nine lakh people and minimised loss of human lives. Now the challenge will be rehabilitating people soon; property worth several crores have been lost in the cyclone."

"This is the country's biggest evacuation operation. I thank the selfless efforts made by my government servants. Impact of the cyclone will of course die down with the passage of time, and normalcy will soon return."
