Tandoor murder: SC to decide on plea of Sushil Sharma, convicted of killing wife

The Supreme Court is likely to decide today whether to uphold the death sentence of a former Congress leader who was found guilty of murdering his wife and trying to burn the body in a tandoor in 1995, a sensational crime that came to be known as the 'tandoor murder'.

Former Youth Congress leader Sushil Sharma has challenged his conviction and death sentence for the murder of his wife Naina Sahani, a crime that the Delhi High Court had described as an "act of extreme depravity that shook the conscience of society". Read more
