Army Chief's US visit torpedoed by govt shutdown
October 07, 2013  19:06
The US government shutdown has led to the scuttling of a visit by Army Chief Gen Bikram Singh to the country scheduled for this week. The visit by the Army Chief has been put off in view of the government shutdown in the US, Army sources said.

The visit has been put off at a time when the Army has been facing the challenges of tackling an infiltration attempt by terrorists backed by suspected Pakistan Army special forces in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
