In a move bound to create a major political storm in Andhra Pradesh, the Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde has reportedly signed the cabinet note okaying the formation of the Telangana state, reports Rediff.com's Mohammed Siddique from Hyderabad.

Shinde signed the papers just before the scheduled meeting of the Union Cabinet, which is on right now at the PM's residence at 7 RCR after he received the green signal from Congress President and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

There are indications that the note will come up for consideration by the Union Cabinet today.

Sources said that the note contained the proposal for the formation of the Telangana state comprising 10 districts with Hyderabad as its capital.

Earlier in the day, Shinde had dismissed reports that cabinet would discuss the Telangana note today.
