Lalu Yadav sentenced to five years in fodder scam

Lalu Prasad Yadav gets five years in the fodder scam along with a fine of Rs 25 lakh. He was convicted for criminal conspiracy, cheating and corruption in the case. The immediate fallout is that Lalu stands disqualified as a member of Parliament. Lalu was convicted on Monday in the multi-crore scam.

Also on Monday, Rajya Sabha member and Congress leader, Rasheed Masood, became the first MP to lose his seat after the recent Supreme Court judgement had removed the immunity for convicted lawmakers.
