Amit Shah tries to woo Mamata

In an overture to Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee, BJP leader Amit Shah, who is visiting Kolkata, today said if his party formed the next government at the Centre it would give "due right" to the people of West Bengal.

"If BJP forms the next government at the Centre, it will give Bengal its due right for the development of the state," Shah said.

"We don't believe in alms. We believe in equal rights and equal development. Bengal has moved backward due to the misrule of the Left," he said.
