Tarun Tejpal is pressurising me, my family: Victim

The journalist who was allegedly assaulted by Tarun Tejpal during a media event in Goa has claimed that the editor of news magazine Tehelka had tried to pressurise her and her family after the incident.

The victim, who issued a statement on Saturday, said that "a family member of Tejpal came to my mother's house on November 22 and asked her to protect him", according to a report by CNN-IBN.

The person "wanted to know who I was seeking legal help from and what I wanted as a result of my complaint. The visit has placed tremendous pressure on my family. I call upon all persons connected to Tejpal to refrain from contacting me," she said.

The journalist claimed that she fears further intimidation and harassment by Tejpal.
