Countdown for 2014 general elections begins

Our Delhi correspondent in Delhi reports: The count down for 2014 parliament polls has begun with the Election Commission allocating subject matter of "2014 Lok Sabha polls prepardness" to Deputy Election Commission R Balakrishnan.

The EC appointed Balakrishnan as the nodal officer for 2014 polls. Balakrishnan is an IAS officer of Odisha cadre. He had conducted 2009 Lok Sabha polls under N Gopalaswami.
