'Chandila was paid advance of Rs 15 lakh to fix May 17 match'

The Delhi Police statement on the spot-fixing scandal. The statement says that a third set of bookies paid Rs 15 lakh to Ajit Chandila for spot-fixing in the May 17 IPL match in Hyderabad. The match, Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Rajasthan Royals could not be fixed as Chandila was arrested. The money was paid to Chandila in April. This is separate from the Rs.20 lakh recovered from his cricket kit, says the police.

Bookie Sunil Bhatia admits he fixed some ICL matches with the help of Baburao Yadav. After ICL players were banned, Bhatia took Yadav to Bangldesh. Bhatia claimed he has good contacts with a prominent Bangladeshi player. They had to return as the ICC anti-corruption team spotted the bookie.
