IPL spot-fixing: Tainted trio to be produced in court today

S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, the three Rajasthan Royals players who were suspended after being arrested for their alleged role in spot-fixing scandal in the ongoing IPL 6, would be produced in a court in Delhi on Tuesday.

The tainted trio, along with ten bookies, was arrested on Thursday from Mumbai and sent to five-day judicial custody. It was learnt that Delhi police, who unearthed the whole spot-fixing scandal, would seek further custody of the players and the bookies. 

Beleaguered Rajasthan Royals on Monday terminated the contract of the three players esides filing an FIR against the tainted trio.

The IPL last week found itself engulfed in a sensational spot-fixing scandal after Sreesanth and two of his Rajasthan Royals teammates were arrested by the police which claimed that they received upto Rs 60 lakh from bookies for bowling one manipulated over.
