Delhi police have arrested a bookie from the Panchvati colony in Bhopal for allegedly being involved in betting on IPL matches.

Soon after the arrest last night, the unidentified young bookie was taken by road to the national capital for further interrogation, they said. Delhi police did not give any information to their Bhopal counterparts about the arrest, police said.

The arrest has been made as part of the Delhi police's crackdown against bookies all over the country, sources added. On Friday night, Madhya Pradesh police busted an IPL betting syndicate in Ujjain and arrested four persons who they suspect were wagering on the direction of their "bosses" based in Mumbai and Bangalore.
