Plan to revive mythical Saraswati dries up

A project, spearheaded by India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation to make water flow in the Saraswati, a sacred river that dried up around 4,000 years ago, has stalled and prospects of getting it moving again appear bleak. ONGC, a state run oil company, began drilling in 2005 near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, in order to revive the river with the hope of eventually bringing a new water source to parts of Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
