Home guard held for rape and murder of MBA student

An MBA student was allegedly raped and murdered by a home guard at Madanapalle, 120 km from Tirupatire, police said today.

The first year student of a private college at Madanapalle was admitted to a government hospital under mysterious circumstances by the home guard last night.

She died at midnight, police said, adding that the home guard was taken into custody for questioning today.
