Pran given Dada Saheb Phalke award at Mumbai residence

Veteran Bollywood actor Pran Sikand, a Hindi cinema villain loved and feared in equal measure by moviegoers, was given the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award, the highest official recognition for film personalities in India, at his residence in Mumbai. The award was bestowed by I&B minister Manish Tiwari  this afternoon. The 93-year-old actor was unable to receive the award in person at the Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi due to his ill health. Pran who has acted in over 400 films in his six-decade-long career, retired from acting in 1998.
