The Supreme Court has slammed Attorney General GE Vahanvati for stating that the CBI's coal probe report was not shared with anyone. The CBI in its affidavit, said later, that its report had in fact been shared with the law minister, the attorney general, the PMO and the officials from the coal ministry. Additional Solicitor General, Harin Rawal, who has since quit, had said the report had not been shared with the political executive.

The SC is now hearing the CBI's affidavit on the coal probe report. The verdict is expected to be delivered any time now.

The Supreme Court says that the CBI has become a caged parrot speaking its master's voice.
