Poor loser BJP says the Congress will meet the same fate in general elections. The very troublesome Renukacharya who joined the Karnataka Janatha Party has lost the elections. Contesting on a KJP ticket after quitting the BJP, Renukacharya the former excise minister lost to the Congress from Honnalli.

Meanwhile, the BJP which was strong in the Shimoga belt from where Yeddyurappa hails, has slipped to the third slot. The KJP leads here and the Congress is second.
