In a rare picture of bonhomie between the Congress and the BJP, finance minsiter P Chidambaram and BJP senior leader Jaswant Singh was caught on camera, sharing similar prognoses of the Karnataka polls.

Said Chidambaram, "There are no lessons beyond this that whichever party is in power has to deliver. We are being watched very closely by the people."

A smiling Jaswant Singh, nodded in agreement and said, "People want governance. The reality is what we are seeing on the ground." He refused to comment on the impact of the Narendra Modi factor in Karnataka. "I don't want to talk about individuals," he said firmly.

Cong spokesperson Rashid Alvi, wags his finger and says, the BJP should learn a lesson from the routing.
