Jammu: BSF foils infiltration bid in Samba sector

Border Security Force (BSF) troopers foiled an infiltration bid from Pakistan at Samba sector of the border near Jammu on early Monday, an official said. Troopers guarding the Ballad border post, about 55 km from Jammu, noticed some movement around 5am and opened fire to challenge a group of people trying to infiltrate across the border into India.

"Our troops opened fire to challenge them. The firing went on from 5.10am to 5.35am," the official said.The infiltrators were pushed back into Pakistani territory and an extensive search operation was launched for any person who might have sneaked in, the official said.  Read
