BJP: Bills will be passed only if ministers quit
May 06, 2013  16:14
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, says the government should first answer questions raised by the opposition and then pass bills in Parliament. Bills should not be passed when Parliament is not functioning properly.  "The government is trying to kill democracy by passing bills like this," says Swaraj.  "Allies have also raised objections to rushing the food bill through Parliament. What the government is doing is diverting attention from scams by passing bills," she says. "We will allow bills to be passed only after the law minister and the rail minister resign," she says.
