'Bomb-like' clock triggers panic in Bangalore

A bomb-like object found inside the compound of a house in Bengalore triggered panic among the residents of the area today.

"The bomb disposal squad which rushed to the spot, after examination, discovered that it was just an alarm clock kept inside a bomb like object," Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Division) Krishna Bhat said.

The squad rushed to the spot after a complaint by the resident, a businessman who stated that he had received an anonymous call on his landline that a "holy gift" had been left inside his compound. Bhat said the call was being traced and the culprit would be nabbed "very soon".
