Karunanidhi: DMK pulling out of UPA in totality
March 19, 2013  11:30
Karunanidhi said the party salutes all those who have lost their lives and all those who have supported the issue. "The DMK condemns the serious crimes that the Sri Lanka government has committed against Lankan Tamils and supports a revolution in Lanka for the rights Sri Lankan Tamils," said Karunanidhi.

However, the DMK has offered a drowning UPA a straw. Karunanidhi says that the party may reconsider its decision and withdraw everything it has said right now if the Centre is willing to move amendments to the US-sponsored resolution on the issue at the United Nations Human Rights Council. The deadline for the UPA to change its stance on the issue is Friday.

The DMK has 18 seats in Parliament.
