Indian and Chinese women are more ambitious than their counterparts in the United States, according to a think tank research.

Research from a think tank, Centre for Talent Innovation has shown that the career ambitions and commitments of women in the Brazil, Russia, India, and China overwhelm those of women in the US, CNN reports.

According to the research, the rapid growth in emerging markets over the past decade has made the BRIC nations fertile ground for the development of new approaches to attracting and managing talent, which is why the BRIC women are graduating from university at rates equal to or exceeding men and thus have an opportunity to move ahead of their Western counterparts

Although career women in the BRIC nations are frequently derailed by family obligations and workplace-related problems as compared to women in US, they have an advantage in the area of childcare, which is a career killer for most US women, because of affordable help and family support.

However, the research identified care for elders as a ticking time bomb for women in BRIC nations, mainly India and China, because in these nations, filial piety is tightly woven into the cultural value system as compared to the United States.

In spite of the tremendous gains in women's status in the BRICs over the past two decades, gender bias remains an indisputable reality of the workplace, the report added.
