A minor fire broke out on the fourth story of 'Mantralaya', the Maharashtra state secretariat complex in Mumbai that houses offices of the chief minister, key ministers and top officials, raising fears of a recurrence.  However, the fire has been brought under control.

Twelve fire tenders were rushed to the building, and quickly brought the fire under control. Fire officials said that the fire broke out because of a short circuit.

It may be recalled that a devastating fire in the Maharashtra government secretariat left  three persons dead and 16 injured  and destroyed large number of files last year, raising questions on whether any sabotage was the cause.

More details are awaited.
