The UP Police had yesterday virtually ruled out immediate arrest of SP leader Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya booked in the murder of DSP Zia-ul-Haq on Saturday and said it needs to be established first who committed the crime before the conspiracy angle can be probed.

The police also said that the post-mortem report of the DSP, Circle Officer of Kunda in Pratapgarh district from where Raja Bhaiya is a five-time Independent MLA, has shown only one bullet injury and the bullet is untraceable. The DSP's wife had however said there were three bullet injuries.

To a question whether Raja Bhaiya would be arrested, UP Parliamentary Affairs Minister Azam Khan, who accompanied the Chief Minister, said, "Wait for a while".

Khan also said, "I am not the one to decide. I am not the court. I had stated in the state Assembly that it was for the court of law to decide about who is guilty." Asked about protests by local people, the Chief Minister said, "Those who want to do politics about the incident and want to take it in another direction and give it a different colour will indulge in sloganeering. No one should indulge in politics over the incident."
