Chopper scam: Ex-air chief questioned tomorrow, cousins today

Three cousins of the former air force chief SP Tyagi, accused of accepting bribes, partly on his behalf,  are being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today about their alleged role in the VVIP chopper scam.

Retired Air Chief Marshal Tyagi will be interrogated tomorrow, said sources.  He has denied charges of any wrongdoing.Julie, Rajiv and Dosca Tyagi are being investigated by the CBI for taking kickbacks from middlemen allegedly on the payroll of Italian defence giant Finmeccanica.  In 2010, India greed to buy 12 helicopters for nearly 4,000 crores from AgustaWestland, a subsidiary of Finmeccanica.
