March 05, 2013  15:48
A Pilibhit court today acquitted BJP MP Varun Gandhi in the second 'hate speech' case registered against him in the run-up to 2009 Lok Sabha polls. The court cited 'lack of evidence' while acquitting him.

The BJP leader faced charges under IPC and Representation of People Act for promoting enmity among people and supporting acts prejudicial to communal harmony while making allegedly inflammatory speeches.

Varun Gandhi has already been acquitted for the first case on February 28.
