March 05, 2013  18:23
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is reportedly considering allowing a discussion in the Lower House on Thursday on the Sri Lanka Tamils abuse issue under Rule 193, which does not entail voting.

Kumar's move is reportedly being made to assuage the feelings of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), a key ally of the UPA, which protested inside and outside  the House on Tuesday on the issue, wearing black shirts.

Expressing solidarity with agitating members, DMK representative in the Government, Minister of State for Finance S S Palanimackam also wore a black shirt though he did not participate in the protest.
