Irom Sharmila to appear in Delhi court

Irom Sharmila will appear in a Delhi court on Monday to face charges under Section 309 -- attempted suicide.

Irom Sharmila has been on a fast for nearly 12 years to demand the repeal of the AFSPA and its blatant misuse in Manipur.

"I am not committing suicide. This is my way of protest. I am protesting by non-violent means," she told media personnel in Delhi on Sunday.
