3,000 still stranded in Uttarakhand, says army chief

Army chief Bikram Singh, who reached Dehradun this morning said, "Some people are still stranded we will rescue them. 5,00 people are stranded in Harsil and 2,500 in Badrinath. The rescue operation depends entirely on the weather."

"All agencies worked in tandem in rescue efforts. We are here to strengthen rescue efforts," he added.

The NDMA said that the rescue operations are likely to end today.
