NDMA defends reaction to Uttarakhand disaster

The National Disaster Management Authority, which has been under flak for its tardy response to the massive floods in Uttarakhand, on Monday defended its actions.

NDMA authorities shot down reports about lack of coordination between various agencies, stating that each agency was doing its own job.

"In a disaster of this magnitude, there are bound to be some loopholes," CNN-IBN quoted a NDMA official as saying.
