A senior Congress leader today asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sanction a financial package for Goa to bail out people hit by the mining crisis.
"The prime minister has assured Rs 1,000 crore package for flood-ravaged Uttarakhand. It is a natural calamity. The priority should go there. But I hope that the financial package demanded for people affected by the mining industry would also be materialised. I hope the PM will extend some help to us," said Goa MP Francisco Sardinha.
