United States Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday said US Vice President Joe Biden will visit India in July to continue talks between India and the US.

He also added that both the countries  have reaffirmed their commitment to full and timely implementation of the civil nuclear deal.

Kerry said the US "welcomes India's strong leadership on the world stage" and it was looking forward to taking the relationship to "new heights".

He made the comment while addressing a joint press conference with External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid in Delhi.During the fourth India-US Strategic Dialogue, Kerry and Khurshid discussed cooperation in the fields of agriculture, technology and space exploration.

Kerry also defended NSA's spy programme, saying it has avoided terrorist acts and saved lives. He denied that the agency had violated any civil liberties with its actions.

Kerry has said the US will ensure that none of India's concerns on talks with the Taliban are overlooked or undermined, says External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.

Kerry distances the US from talks with Taliban. He says Afghanistan's High Peace Council will talk if Taliban agrees to proposed conditions.
