Over 200 stranded people evacuated from Kinnaur

Over 200 stranded persons, including twelve patients and 16 foreigners, were airlifted from Sangla, Reckong Peo, Kaza and Pooh in Himachal Pradesh's rain ravaged Kinnaur tribal district by state and IAF choppers. 

The sick persons from Reckong Peo and Sanglawere flown to Shimla and admitted to IGMC Hospital here. The rescue teams assisted by 25 member team of Disaster Management Response Force have so far airlifted over 740 persons from various locations in Kinnaur tribal district, completely cut off by road beyond Tapri due to massive landslides triggered by incessant heavy rains for one week, officials said.
