Yamuna crosses danger mark in Delhi

The water level of the river Yamuna crossed the danger mark of 204.83 metres and reached 206.40 metres today in Delhi. The Flood Control and Irrigation department said the water level would touch 207.05 meters later on Wednesday. Aseem, a resident said, "The water level is expected to rise. We will have to move our shop from this place, if the water level rises. My tea shop is already half submerged, I don't know what I will do."

The rains have been at least twice than heavy as usual in northwest and central India as the June-September monsoon spreads north, covering the whole country a month faster than normal.
