Nitish Kumar also criticised the BJP's decision to back Narendra Modi and said that Modi would be inadequate to serve a country as varied as India. "The Gujarat chief minister will never be able to do justice to the country. Your people, your cadre are happy and enthused, but it does not translate into a victory. It's a dream and it will be broken," he said.

Commenting on the BJP accusing him of betrayal, he said that those who don't know how to treat their elders (read LK Advani) should not talk about betrayal.

Condemning the violence during the bandh in Bihar yesterday, he said the BJP kept asking him to "clear his stand" and "when I did, and decided to pull out, they accuse me of betrayal," he said.

He also thanked the Congress and the PM for pledging support to the JD-U.
