At least six people were reportedly injured in a clash between activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal-United (JD-U) in Patna on Tuesday.
Locals media reports confirmed that several trains were also stopped and roads blocked by BJP activists, as they began a state-wide shutdown to protest what it called a betrayal by the JD(U).
The BJP-led protest is taking place to highlight the wrong step taken by the JD-U to end their 17-year-old alliance in Bihar. The day is being observed by the BJP as "Vishwasghaat Diwas".
