More rapes in Delhi in 2012 than four metros put together!

The number of rapes reported in Delhi jumped 23% in 2012 compared to a nationwide rise of 3%, according to a new report from the National Crime Records Bureau.

The "Crime in India 2012' report said there were 706 cases of rape reported in Delhi last year compared to 572 in 2011. Delhi's total for 2012 was more than all the rapes reported in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai combined.
