The Samajwadi Party has welcomed the government's decision to get the bill passed at a special session of Parliament. The SP is opposed to the bill since it believes it will kill agriculture and drive farmers to suicide and the government was worried the SP, would pull out of the government if the bill was passed by an ordinance. Now, Naresh Aggarwal, general secretary, SP, says it will not withdraw support to the government over the bill. The bill, if passed, will cost the exchequer Rs 27,000 crore.
