2 dead, 4 wounded near Santa Monica College

Two bodies were found Friday afternoon in a house that had been torched near Santa Monica College, and at least four people were wounded minutes later when the gunman opened fire on nearby traffic, Los Angeles officials said.

A suspect dressed in black, with "Life is a Gamble" on the back of his sweatshirt, was apprehended at the college's library after students dived for cover or ran amid a volley of gunfire. The suspect, described as a white male in his 20s, was reportedly wounded, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
