Dr Tirumallai Cunnuvakum Anandanpillai Raghavan will be India's next high commissioner to Pakistan. Dr Raghavan is currently our high commissioner in Singapore. According to a 2009 profile (http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne+News/Singapore/Story/A1Story20091106-178295.html), he was 'born in Nagpur -- his father is from Tamil Nadu and his mother is from Allahabad.' He is an alumnus of St Stephen's College and JNU from where he has a PhD in history. His wife Ranjana Sengupta is an editorial director at Penguin India.
