Railway bribery scam: CBI summons Pawan Bansal

The Central Bureau of Investigation has summoned former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal to appear for investigation in the bribery scam today.

The questioning of Bansal is expected to revolve around his role in the appointment of suspended Railway Board Member (staff) Mahesh Kumar involving his nephew Vijay Singla who was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of Rs 90 lakh, official sources said.

Sources in the CBI say that there were two direct meetings between Bansal and Mahesh Kumar at his residence.

Bansal had to resign from the Union Cabinet  in the aftermath of the case involving his nephew.
