Big trouble for Sree, others: MCOCA invoked in spot-fix cas

The prosecution invokes the stringent MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) law in the spot-fixing case. This means that the case will now move to a special MCOCA court. The police say they have evidence of direct links between bookies and the underworld. With a Rs 40,000 crore illegal betting racket rocking the country, the government has been finally shaken into action. Today, a court accepted the bail pleas of Gurunath Meiyappan and Vindoo Dara Singh.
