A Rediff correspondent reports: Jagmohan Dalmiya is likely to take over as the interim president of the BCCI after N Srinivasan quits, highly-placed sources told rediff.com

Dalmiya's name was reportedly proposed by the Cricket Association of Bengal.

Srinivasan will be reinstated if the probe into the IPL spot-fixing scandal clears him, said sources.

Meanwhile, the meeting of the Emergent Working Committee of the BCCI has started in Chennai.

At the meeting, several angry BCCI members asked Srinivasan to resign immediately "for the sake of Indian cricket" according to CNN-IBN.

Tempers ran high at the meeting where some of the members even threatened to resign over the issue.
