More school meal horrors: Distressed over food containing worms being served to them, 50 girl students of a residential school, who had refused to eat meals for four days, fled the premises, prompting an inquiry following which five employees, including a warden and a cook, have been sacked.

The students of Kasturba Gandhi residential girls school in Hafizganj area in Bareilly, claimed that the cook would not wash raw food material and grains before preparing meals and they were scolded whenever they raised their voice against it.

They said that many of them were taken ill after consuming the food following which the girls fled the premises.
