Cabinet Committee on Investment clears 157 projects worth Rs 1.6 lakh crore

The Cabinet Committee on Investment has cleared 157 projects worth Rs 1.6 lakh crore, Finance Minister P Chidambaram, said today. He said that the demand for credit is sluggish from large industry, but the government is confident of financing the current account deficit in 2013-14 without drawing on reserves. The government is also actively considering significant liberalising of the FDI policy.
