Andhra DIG resigns over upcoming Telangana statehood

Update on Telangana: Shaikh Mohammed Iqbal, DIG, Andhra Pradesh Special Police Battalion, has opted for voluntary retirement in protest against the proposal for the creation of the Telangana state. His decision sent ripples in the police department. "It is an emotional decision as I was disturbed. I can be more open about my decision only after the creation of the state," he said.
