'2014 Indian GP may be rescheduled, NOT axed'

Indian Motorsports Federation Vicky Chandok says that the Indian Grand Prix has not been axed, but rescheduled since FI bosses want the race to be in March or April, but not October.

Earlier, F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone told Reuters that FI was probably not going to happen in India next year. Asked what the problem was with the race at Greater Noida, near New Delhi, the 82-year-old British billionaire replied: "Very political."

Ecclestone, who has run Formula One for decades, draws up the calendar and usually presents it to the governing International Automobile Federation to be rubber-stamped in September. Read more
