CBI may seek time for second Ishrat chargesheet

The CBI is likely to seek more time from a special court in Gujarat in filing the second chargesheet in the Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case, saying the conspiracy role needs to be further established.

Sources in the agency said the conspiracy angle behind the fake encounter needed to be further established so that a water-tight case can be made out.

The CBI is looking into the role of Intelligence Bureau's Special Director Rajendra Kumar and others, a move which may intensify the bickering between two central agencies.
