6.6 magnitude earthquake hits China's Gansu province

PTI; A 6.6-magnitude earthquake today jolted two counties in northwest China's Gansu Province, according to the country's Earthquake Networks Centre.         The earthquake occurred at 7.45 AM (local time) at the junction of  Minxian and Zhangxian counties.        

 

The local people in Minxian county said strong tremor was felt and saw noticeable shake of trees and homes, adding that the quake lasted for about one minute.        

 

Meanwhile, the earthquake was also felt in neighbouring cities of Dingxi, Longnan, Tianshui, as well as the provincial capital city of Lanzhou, state run Xinhua news agency reported.
