Karnataka PWD razes 153-year old structure in Hampi ruins

The ruins at Hampi are a world heritage site, and the Karnataka government is in sync with the plans to preserve the site.   

But someone, it seems, forgot to tell the state public works department which blithely ran its bulldozers over the Dadapeer Chatra, built in 1860 to widen a road, reports the Daily Mail, UK.
